Communication. Connection. Community. Collaboration.

Communication is a basic human right. Access to this right must be provided regardless of a person’s ability to speak verbally. Verbal speech challenges may be present in developmental disabilities and in acquired disabilities. Assistive Technology tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices (AAC), are the key to answering those challenges.

In order for the AAC device to be effective, a person must learn specific skills for using it, and must be given functional, meaningful opportunities to practice communicating with it. Village Voices Speech Therapy and Assistive Technology Services, LLC has combined these important concepts to create a supportive community that offers communication access opportunities to all.
